Local and state leaders met with approximately 300 people, mostly farmers, Monday night at the Knights of St. John Hall in Maria Stein to learn what the agriculture community must do to help restore the lake. Chris Gibbs, Executive Director of the Mercer County Farm Service Agency, organized the event. A repeated message throughout the evening was all farmers needed to “removing the cross hairs” from the the agriculture community by using established best practices or face government intervention.
