Grand Lake State Park Manager Brian Miller told The Evening Leader's Mike Burkholder that dissolved oxygen levels in the lake are low.
Last week's high water temperatures robbed the water of oxygen, which stresses fish. Shad are typically the first fish to die from low dissolved oxygen.
This week's cooler temperatures could help matters.
