The Mercer Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and The Ohio State University Extension would like to extend an invitation to a Western Lake Erie Basin public input meeting. This meeting is to discuss the development of watershed plans in northern Mercer County, specifically, Twelvemile Creek, Eightmile Creek and Kyle Prairie Creek. These plans will aim to address water quality impacts and nutrient reduction strategies in these watersheds.
The meeting begins at 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in the Mercer County Central Services Building’s large first floor conference room, located at 220 W. Livingston St., Celina, OH. Please use the Sugar Street entrance. Refreshments will be provided.
Join us for an informal discussion to learn more about this project and to provide valuable input on potential conservation projects. Future funding for projects is contingent on completing these plans, so please come to share what projects and practices would be most beneficial to you and your community and to learn more about upcoming opportunities for farmers. Example projects could include: grassed waterways, cover crops, two-stage channels, stream buffers, wetlands and much more! Please contact Mercer SWCD with any questions at 419-586-3289 ext. 3.
