World’s Funnest Fun Run/Walk 5K

The World’s Funnest Fun Run/Walk 5K, formerly known as the Lake Improvement Association Color Run, will be held June 23, 2018, at Grand Lake St. Marys. THERE WILL BE COLOR, but there will also be fun new additions to make the event exciting for the entire family!

We’re mixing it up a bit this year with cool new stations during the run:

– slip ‘n slide
– 100 yard dance
– hula hoops
– hopscotch
– balance beams
– beach ball carry
– and of course, color stations and color cannons!

PARKING MAP

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR COLOR RUNNERS/WALKERS

CHECK-IN/REGISTRATION

  • Meet and start at the 1st shelter house on the East Bank
  • Registration will begin at 9:00am – please arrive in plenty of time to pick up your shirts, color packets, and grab bags so you will be ready by the 11am start time. We have nearly 500 runners/walkers, so check-in will take some time!
  • The shelter house has men’s and women’s restrooms available, and we’ll have porta-potties available this year as well
  • Additional color packs will be on sale for $2 each or 3 for $5 prior to the run
  • We ordered a handful of extra shirts; these shirts are to cover us in case we made a mistake on anyone’s order. IF there are any shirts left they will go on sale at 10:45am for $15 each. Remember, you had to register early to get a free shirt with your registration

PARKING

  • Park in the Marina or First Beach parking lots. Please try to carpool as spaces are limited!
  • You will want to bring an old sheet or tarp to cover your car seats after the race!

Please enter the area from State Route 364, as Parkway Drive will be closed to the west

DURING THE RUN

  • Water stations will be located near the 1st and 2nd mile markers
  • All shelter houses along the route have restrooms
  • If desired, bring eyewear, bandanas, etc. to help keep color powder out of your eyes, mouth and hair!
  • St. Marys Fire Dept. EMTs will be available in case of emergency
  • If you would prefer to not do a station, feel free to go around it
  • LIA volunteers will also be available at the stations if you need assistance

AFTER THE RUN

  • The finish line is located near the Villa Nova shelter house
  • Restrooms will be available near the finish line
  • After the run, you will receive:
  • A free bottle of water
  • A free cup of Dannon yogurt
  • A free drink ticket redeemable for beer at Summer Kickoff (if you’re 21 and over; it is only good for beer, not other drinks. Age verification will take place near the beer stands)
  • A raffle ticket (be sure to stick around for the raffle, as we have some great prizes to give away!)
  • St. Marys Fire Dept. EMTs will be available in case of emergency
  • Please stick around and enjoy the free concerts with Clark Manson, Nashville Crush, Kaitlyn Schmit & the Move, and In Case of Emergency, plus the great kids’ activities, vendors, and cornhole and beer pong tournaments at Summer Kickoff! IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER

1. The run will be held RAIN or SHINE. No refunds will be issued due to weather, except under the following circumstances and at the LIA’s sole discretion. The LIA reserves the right to alter, revise, eliminate, or otherwise change this policy at any time, for any reason, at its sole discretion.

2. If it is lightning, the LIA may elect to delay the run. The most likely scenario is we would delay it one half-hour, and then another half-hour if needed, up until noon.

3. If the run cannot be reasonably held, the LIA may, at its sole discretion, elect to cancel the run.

4. If the run is cancelled, it will not be rescheduled, as we are unable to block off East Bank Road on another date due to shelter house reservations and other activities such as fishing tournaments.

5. If the run is cancelled, you have three options:

Option 1: You may elect to donate your registration fees toward the improvement of Grand Lake St. Marys and keep any shirts or color packs you purchased

Option 2: You may elect to receive a partial refund; for example, if you would like to receive your shirts and color packs, you may receive your registration fees less the cost of the shirts and color packs

Option 3: You may elect to receive a full refund and forfeit any shirts and color packs

6. Please note: If the run is cancelled, the following week we will send out an email and post on the Facebook event run page with instructions and a deadline for claiming your refund, which will be applied via the payment method you used to register. Please understand that the process may take several days.

Of course, we’re looking for GOOD weather so we can all enjoy a fun day at the lake!
