For the 13th year, the Mercer Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Lake Improvement Association and the Helena Agronomic Center have partnered together to provide discounted lawn and garden soil testing.
Stop by the MCSWCD office at 220 W. Livingston St. Suite A 101 in Celina for a coupon to receive your test for $5 (please call 419-586-3289 ext. 3 and they will bring your coupon out to you).
For $5, you will be provided with a coupon for the soil sample, a soil collection bag and informational brochures.
Return the coupon and the soil sample to the MCSWCD office and your results will be sent to you in a few weeks.
Healthy soils are the start to beautiful lawns and gardens. Understanding what the nutrient levels are in your soils is the first step. Doing so also helps insure you aren’t overapplying nutrients that could ultimately make their way to Grand Lake St. Marys.
