The Lake Improvement Association and Valco recently partnered to restore the boat docks at Windy Point on Grand Lake St. Marys. Coldwater-based Valco participated as part of its Stewardship Day, on which the company shuts down operations so employees can improve their communities. Valco Stewardship Coordinator Jeff Ward said this was the fifth year for the program.

The Lake Improvement Association supplied 17 gallons of stain and material, 12 rollers, 6 roller handles, 6 paintbrushes, paper towels, coffee and doughnuts during the eight-hour restoration project.

Grand Lake St. Marys State Park Manager David Faller said Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources was thrilled with the project, which made a lasting improvement to Windy Point. He thanked Valco and the LIA for their continued dedication to Grand Lake St. Marys.
