LIA Membership Meeting
Celina, Ohio Moose Lodge
Keith Westrick began the meeting with the pledge of allegiance.
Ted Bertke gave the Treasurer Report. Ted said the checkbook is $55,467.63 and there is $21,896.00 in the St. Marys Foundation.
Keith Westrick outlined several things the LIA has done recently including donations to The Rec Club, Auglaize County Dare, and the Celina Lake Fest as well as others.
Dr. Jacquemine then gave a water quality presentation. The presentation can be found on the LIA website and Facebook page.
Brad Fisher with the Grand Lake Rec Club was present the things his club took part in in 2021. Brad said the Rec Club purchased channel signs, special abilities docks, and sonar equipment. They also took part in the Spring Lake and Beach Cleanup which will be held in April. Brad announced the Bicycle Poker Run to be held on June 11th. Brad also spoke about the Boaters Beach Concerts he is involved in, he asked that anyone who attends the event this year to patronize the local lake bars as well. Brad asked the Trevor Mobley Memorial Foundation to present their cause and asked for the memberships help in “Lighting up the Lake.” Brad then announced lighting ideas for channel markings and other locations to help boaters navigate the lake at night.
Keith Westrick then presented recently retired Brian Miller. Brian explained and reflected on his tenure with ODNR. He thanked everyone who has supported him over the years and thanked the LIA for all their support over the years.
Dave Faler with ODNR came to the podium to talk about what is going on with the state park. Dave said the state park is full on all holiday weekends through July. Dave said the restroom are open and other facilities are open. Dave said there are maintenance and life guard positions open still and welcomed candidates to apply.
Keith Westrick talked about the recently held Chili Cook-off. He then held the 50/50 drawing which was donated back to the LIA.
