General Membership Meeting 11/4/17

 

  • Board Member Reports:
    • Treasures Report – Report attached. Ted mentioned that the 9000 spent was for Prairie Creek TT.
    • Mark P. thanked Brian Morris for his work on the last meeting
    • Tom Rampe opened the floor for nominations: There were none.
    • Stan Wilker – Feb 24th dance at Romers. The Bishops from Ft. Wayne will be the band. Stan made an appeal for donations and door prizes.
  • Gaurdian of the Lake Award
    • Gus Wintzer was this year’s recipient
  • LRC Update – Tom Knapke
    • Tom pointed out the LRC money solicitation letter and the projects that the LRC is doing. The funding for treatment train water quality testing is what the LRC is actively seeking funding for among other things. Tom pointed out that all donations are welcome no matter how small.
    • Tom Rampe let folks know that the donation is tax deductible and that plans need to be generated before funding can be secured
  • ODNR update – Dave Fahler
    • Lake level is down to -2.6in. in 2015 44.3in. fell and 2017 was 44.6. 2016 was only 25.3in.
    • West bank gate was open and it draws down roughly 1in mo. It’s let open to keep fish alive.
    • East bank gate is opened to keep water in the canal, especially for fire control. The sound of water rushing is not as much as what it sounds like.
    • Fall festival was one of the biggest on record
    • Camping was been tremendous
    • 1st week of October the grounds were at 95%
    • Buoys were removed
    • West beach restroom remodel is to be completed this winter as well as: new lighting, and grass seeding
    • A new swimming pool will be added to the campground with concession stand and slide. Hope to have it open memorial day weekend
  • Dredge Update – Tom Grabow
    • Very successful year 455,550 cu. Yds this year and this is a new record. Last year was 405,000 cu. Yds.
    • Stump Removal along w/ rec club and USFBA did a great job and removed 45 stumps, 65 logs, and 1 ladder. This will continue next year. Dave Meyer pointed out that 110 stumps were marked from Bayview to Windy Point.
  • Ag Solutions – Theresa is on maternity leave (she had a girl) she was absent today
  • 2nd Beach – Tim Lovett
    • Improvement diagram attached
    • Tim Lovett stressed that the project is for water quality
    • The area will be dredged and rock walls will be built
    • Still in conceptual phase.
    • State directors have made approved moving forward with the project
  • Questions from the floor
    • Concern was made that the St. Henry sewage plant was dumping into the lake
  • Tom opened the floor again for elections
    • There were none
