A total of 25 organizations will receive grant assistance, ranging from $2,236 to $30,000, which will support local jobs and boating safety education programs.
Grant award recipients include 15 organizations across northeast Ohio, five in central and north-central Ohio, four in southwest Ohio and one in southeast Ohio. A complete listing of grant award recipients, Ohio’s boating programs and boating facilitiesmay be foundonline at www.ohio dnr.com/watercraft.
Boating Safety Education grants are funded by recreational boaters through the Waterways Safety Fund, which is administered by the Division of Watercraft. The fund is comprised of a share of the state motor fuel tax, watercraft registration and titling fees, and funding from the U.S. Coast Guard.
