From the Port Clinton News Herald:

Next year Ohioans of all ages will have many opportunities to participate in community boating safety education programs statewide because of funding assistance from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft.

A total of 25 organizations will receive grant assistance, ranging from $2,236 to $30,000, which will support local jobs and boating safety education programs.

Grant award recipients include 15 organizations across northeast Ohio, five in central and north-central Ohio, four in southwest Ohio and one in southeast Ohio. A complete listing of grant award recipients, Ohio’s boating programs and boating facilitiesmay be foundonline at www.ohio

Boating Safety Education grants are funded by recreational boaters through the Waterways Safety Fund, which is administered by the Division of Watercraft. The fund is comprised of a share of the state motor fuel tax, watercraft registration and titling fees, and funding from the U.S. Coast Guard.
