Local and state officials – including ODNR Director Jim Zehringer – gathered yesterday for the dedication of the Prairie Creek Treatment Train on Grand Lake St. Marys, the first of five planned stations that employ nature and engineering to clean water before it enters the lake.

The treatment train cleans 1.3 million gallons of water daily by pumping it through natural filters that reduce phosphates by 75 percent. Four more treatment trains are planned on Grand Lake St. Marys following the proven success of the Prairie Creek installation.

The public is invited to tour the treatment train from 1 to 5 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday. Learn more
