The West Beach renovation project (often known as “Second Beach” in St. Marys) is slated to kick off soon. The goal of the project is to create a safe swimming area on the lake while various organizations continue to work on lake-wide solutions. The rock berm and bubble curtain are expected to separate the water in the beach area from the lake proper, so that the beach water can be treated without permanently sealing the beach off from the lake.
