10 Things to Love About Summer Kickoff

The third annual Lake Improvement Association Summer Kickoff will be held from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. June 3, 2017, at the Villa Nova Shelter House on the northeast side of Grand Lake St. Marys. The festival celebrates the return of summer to Grand Lake St. Marys and promises family fun for everyone! Here are 10 things to love about Summer Kickoff.

1. Live Bands (featuring Mustang Sally!)

We’ll be featuring live music all day long, including headliner Mustang Sally! Their award-winning show combines country and rock tunes with audience interaction for can’t-miss entertainment.

Kaitlyn Schmit & The Move will play just before Mustang Sally, and MuddSock will welcome Color Runners/Walkers as they finish their fun-filled run.

Band Schedule: 

Muddsock: 11am – 2pm
DJ music: 2pm-4pm
Kaitlyn Schmit & the Move: 4pm-8pm
Mustang Sally: 8:30pm-11pm

2. Color Run/Walk 5K

The Color Run/Walk 5K welcomes runners and walkers of all ages to enjoy a colorful run (or walk) along the beautiful banks of Grand Lake St. Marys! Register by May 20, and you’ll get a free shirt with your registration! Register here

3. Fun for the Kids!

There will be plenty for the kids to do at Summer Kickoff, including:

• the LIA Playground
• Inflatable obstacles and bouncy houses (3 different inflatables!)
• Video games provided by J&S Electronics

Bring the family out, and Mom and Dad can enjoy some tunes while the kiddos play!

8. Delicious Food

Summer Kickoff 2017 features food vendors serving your favorite festival foods plus plenty of unique options to satisfy your taste buds! Funnel cakes and fries, anyone?

9. Beer Garden!

Our beer garden features favorites like Bud Light and Budweiser, plus craft beer by local brewery Moeller Brew Barn! Get your craft beer fix at Summer Kickoff with 6 tasty brews by Moeller Brew Barn: Blackberry Prairie Wheat, Wally Post Red, Honeywagon IPA, Baked Oatmeal Stout, OH Helles, and Saw Creek Pale Ale. 10. Community Spirit (and Save the Lake!)

Summer Kickoff really does offer fun for everyone, and it’s a testament to the Grand Lake St. Marys community that this will be the third year for our growing event. Your participation – every spectator, tournament player, family member, and friend – celebrates the spirit of togetherness as we work toward restoring Grand Lake St. Marys. In fact, all proceeds from the event go directly to lake improvement efforts.
