The Lake Improvement Association held the first “Battle for Grand Lake” flag football tournament at K.C. Geiger Park on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014. Tournament champions were the Warriors, who went undefeated to claim the trophy from a pool of 16 teams. Kremer's Guns won second place.

The Lake Improvement Association wishes to thank all the players, volunteers, and sponsors who participated in the event. Special thanks to the City of St. Marys, Greg Foxhoven, Andrea Ciampaglio, Gregg Clark, Derek Turner, Craig Moeller, and the others who helped plan the event and prepare the park; Curt Behr and Unique Awards & Signs for providing the tournament trophy; Donna Lee at Buffalo Wild Wings St. Marys for sponsoring the event, hosting the after-party, and assisting with planning; sponsors Kremer's Guns and Edge2Edge Construction; and the numerous others who volunteered their time and effort to make the event successful. All proceeds from the event go toward the improvement of Grand Lake St. Marys.
