The Lake Improvement Association invites the public to shake off the winter chill with a night of dancing, drinks and laughter when the nation’s premier Jimmy Buffet Tribute band, Parrots of the Caribbean, plays this February 18, 2012, at Romer’s in Celina. The event will raise funds to help restore Grand Lake St. Marys.

With Parrots of the Caribbean as the main act, the Lake Improvement Association Beach Party will also feature prizes for Best Dressed and Best T-Shirt, door prizes, raffles, 50/50 drawing and silent auctions. There will be a cash bar and snacks available. Doors open at 6 p.m., live music begins at 7 p.m., and Pirates of the Caribbean play at 9 p.m. Groups of 10 must arrive by 6:15 p.m. for private tables.

“There’s not much to do in February when the temperatures drop low and everyone is ready for Spring, so we wanted to do something to keep the spirit of Grand Lake St. Marys fresh in everyone’s minds and have a great time doing it,” said LIA President Tim Lovett. “The Beach Party is the perfect way to recall summer’s sizzle while raising funds to make it possible to fully enjoy Grand Lake St. Marys again, all year long.”

Stay the night for $75. Stay alive, don’t drink and drive

Romer’s is offering a special rate of $75 per night for 2- and 3-bedroom condos. Get together with friends and other couples to save big on overnight condo accommodations.
