LIA Membership Meeting

10:00 a.m. Dec. 2, 2017 Celina Moose Lodge

Minutes:

Tim Lovett welcomed everyone to the members meeting and stood for the pledge of allegiance.

Ted Bertke gave the treasurers report.

Election Committee: Tom Rampe informed the membership that election nominations closed at the end of the November meeting and the new board members will need to be voted on by the membership to conclude the process. Tom read off the positions and the nominated people for them. Tom asked for the membership to make a motion to accept the election results by acclamation. A motion was received and passed unanimously.

Nick Rentz stood to introduce himself as the new President. Nick then introduced ODNR Director Jim Zehringer who spoke about Tim and Marks time serving on the LIA board. He presented Tim and Mark with plaques commemorating their service. Ohio Representative Keith Faber was also present to speak on Mark and Tim’s efforts.

Mark Piening talked about the upcoming February dance to be held on February 24, 2018. He said The Bishops, a Musical Journey, will be the band of the evening. He asked the membership to assist in finding door prizes etc for the event.

Dr. Stephen Jacquemin Wright State Lake Campus- Dr. Jacquemin spoke about the problems facing the GLSM watershed. He explained the issues in detail and explained the efforts being taken to help. He noted on wetlands and treatment trains by explaining their roles, benefits, and how they are and ultimately will improve the water quality of GLSM. His power point will be uploaded to the LIA website for members reference.

Tom Knapke and Dave Faler gave quick updates for the LRC and ODNR respectively.

Tim Lovett explained due to the meeting needing to be finished by 1130 for a Fraternal Order of the Moose function, the additional speakers would present at next months meeting.

Jeff Vossler drew the winner of the 50/50.
